MELBOURNE, Australia (BIG WORLD ENTERTAINMENT GROUP) - Melbourne singer/songwriter Katie Michaelson has just won this years "Best Pop Artists 2004" at the Musicoz Awards held at Wollongong's WIN Entertainment Centre and hosted by Dylan Lewis and Annalise Braakensiek.
The 2004 Musicoz Awards show will be broadcast nationally on the WIN Network on Saturday 8.30pm the 11th of December 2004.
Richard Wilkins (Australian music guru who started MTV here) was so impressed with Katie that she was interviewed live (and they then asked her to perform LIVE acoustically) on Australia's most popular morning show the "Today Show" which is broadcast nationally on the Nine Network (with an excess of 2 million + viewers).
Katie has been singing since she was 5 and playing guitar live on stage since she was 16 and loving it! Her favourite artists would be Michelle Branch, Sheryl Crow,
Vanessa Carlton, John Mayer, Matchbox Twenty, Gwen Stefani,
Maroon 5 and of course The Beatles, to name but a few.
The last 12 months for Katie have really been about writing and recording the songs for her debut album titled 'Sing it like it is' (in between doing 4 gigs a week around town). Katie has written some fantastic songs and she is now ready to launch out to the world with her debut EP 'Swim (like a maniac)'. Katie's album is full of great songs that will make you feel good, think about life and maybe even smile.

Music is life, She loves to play on stage and loves the magic of song writing. When a crowded venue starts screaming to hear her songs again. . . Katie knows that she has made a real connection with her audience.
Katie's all-time goal in the coming years is to be touring the world, playing live to thousands of people on any given night, and just rockin' the stage. She hopes to leave all her audiences with a smile, feeling good and wanting more!

Peter "Reggie" Bowman (ex Southern Sons, who has worked in the states with John Shanks (Pink, Avril Lavigne,
Ashlee Simpson etc) , Mutt Lange (Shania Twain, The
Corrs etc) and is currently working on an album with
Daniel Jones from
Savage Garden) . . . everyone is really happy with the results and we hope you will be to.
Katie's debut EP titled "Swim (like a maniac)" is going out to radio stations around the country now and she has already generated some interest from the UK & the USA... we will be hearing a lot more about this incredibly talented singer/songwriter in 2005.
