New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Synesthesia, an audio-reactive live visualization software by Gravity Current, Inc., officially launches their latest beta version at Levitation Fest in Austin.
We have always been fans of Levitation, so to have been granted the privilege of having our own stage to call home at the festival, and enhance the performance of so many talented artists from all over the world is surreal.
Synesthesia, the first music visualization software designed specifically for musicians, publicly reveals their latest version of beta at Levitation, a three-day global music festival focusing on acts of the psychedelic genre. Synesthesia displays visual art that dances to live music in real-time. Their advertisements boast that it "transforms sound into color", with technology is made possible by their partnership with some of the world's best artists and creative coders, whose work will be showcased on stage with musicians at the festival.
"We have always been fans of Levitation, so to have been granted the privilege of having our own stage to call home at the festival, and enhance the performance of so many talented artists from all over the world is surreal," says Theron Pray, CEO of Gravity Current, Inc.
The power of Synesthesia lies in its "live" nature, and there are no time lines, play buttons, or elaborate scripted moments. The software analyzes music as it happens, and generates visuals live, leaving musicians free to improvise, knowing that it will visually improvise right along with them. In this way, it transforms any live show into an audio-visual experience.
Synesthesia also celebrates its first birthday as a living, functioning piece of software this month. In its founding year, the company has bootstrapped to a prototype, closed its first round of funding, expanded its micro-empire and launched its beta at SXSW, the world's premier Music, Tech, and Art Festival. In one month's time, Synesthesia gained more than 450 users by word-of-mouth throughout the global musician community, and is continuing to grow.
"The privilege to break-through at a global festival such as Levitation is a huge feat for a company in its nascent period," says Pray, "we reflect on our progress in the past year and are humbled by the positive responses we've received from users all around the world."
Synesthesia will be present on stage with influential musical acts such as Austin locals, The Octopus Project, Gourisankar & Indrajit Banerjee, leading tabla maestro of the present generation, Alex Maas of legendary psych rock band, The
Black Angels, plus much more at the "Visualization" Stage at Levitation.
