New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Mark Balet is a reggae fusion artist based out of New York. Born in April 1983, in the Ivory Coast to military and diplomat parents. He grew up as a third-culture kid between Ivory Coast, Egypt, United States, France, UK and Spain. Mark Balet improved his musical skills through sound systems and formed in 1996 a Hip-hop & Reggae duo called Mauvaise Race.Formerly known as Marky, he found his way to the music scene with his first studio album "Eternel" [Eternel Music Sony ATV] followed by an European tour in 2010 [New Morning, La Scne Bastille, Heineken Hall Madrid, Oldschooltura Festival, Le Rservoir, Meridian 23...].

Mark Balet has collaborated with artists such as Murray Head, Specta (Saan Supa Crew), DJ Poska...Signed to world's leading reggae label, VP Records, his new album, Born to Love, is lively and threaded with an innovative fusion of Reggae, Afrobeat & Rock; a unique, intelligible and harmonious amalgamation that uplifts, intrigues and inspires the listener. The exquisite vocals of Mark Balet are a warm, rich and creamy blend of strength and sensitivity, ingrained with deep meaning, infused with sincerity, and sprinkled with a gentle rasp. His writing style is purposefully profound with explicit intent to deliver a meaningful and worthwhile principle message sweeping the listener through a life-journey. Reviews: "Mark Balet delivers the heart and the soul of Reggae Music."Filip Mller [Reggaelizeit]
"With his debut album "Born to love" Mark Balet is about to carve a permanent mark on the reggae musical landscape." Biko Kennedy [Jamaicans Music]
"This album packs some eminently fresh, eclectic boardwork. The production incorporates elements of Reggae as well as Rock and Afrobeat... and; shockingly, the mixture sounds pretty damn good." Richard Osbourne [DJ Booth]
"First, the opening guitar pulls back the left curtain. Then the voice pulls back the right curtain, and suddenly the magnum opus that is Love of a Father invites you on a rootsy-bluesy-uplifting-mellow-reggae ride. Typically classified as reggae fusion, Mark Balet's music transcends the usual reggae fusion hybrid genre with a lyrically righteous foundation. And that voice! Think a raspy, Sam Cook - Jah Cure blend - strong, honest, and soulful. RJ Frometa [Vents Magazine]
