New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Benning Violins, a preeminent violin shop in Los Angeles, has launched a new, industry-leading website. Launched in April, the state-of-the-art site showcases their catalog of fine violins, violas, cellos and bows crafted by both old and modern masters, as well as instruments made by resident violinmaker, Eric Benning.
"Just because we're traditional in the very personal and expert service we provide, and since we make instruments the same way the old masters did three hundred years ago, doesn't mean I don't want the best and most advanced website in industry."
The distinguished Los Angeles violin shop, Benning Violins, specialists in the sales, servicing and crafting of fine violins, violas, cellos and bows, has announced the launch of their new website. The site, which went live in April, reflects the shop's old-world approach to service and instrument making of resident violinmaker Eric Benning.
"I doubt there's a single industry anymore that doesn't rely on the Internet," stated Benning. "Master instruments are no exception. Just ten years ago, most of our instruments sales were local. Today, we ship instruments for trial and examination nationally as well as internationally. It's become vital to have a strong and substantive
Internet presence."
The website is built around one of the largest online catalogs of fine instruments in the world. Hundreds of violins, violas and cellos - as well as bows - crafted by both old and modern makers are prominently featured.
"We maintain a large catalog of instruments crafted by Italian masters as well as one of the largest offerings of master-crafted French bows for sale anywhere," said Benning. "We keep our catalog updated with instruments that are ready for trial. All instruments and bows have been meticulously set up in our workshop to our exacting specifications."
Aside from offering sales, the Benning shop accepts commissioned work, consignment sales and provides repair, restoration and appraisal service, as well as a comprehensive student rental program. Accessories and new and affordable violins, violas, cellos and bows for beginner and intermediate players are offered for sale on their online store.
The shop, which recently celebrated 60 years in business, remains an established and influential institution in the classical music culture of Southern California. Recognized for having maintained the Guarnerius violin of the late "Violinist of the Century" Jascha Heifetz, some of the most recognizable names of current renowned string performers frequent the shop.
The site prominently features instruments crafted by Benning, himself an acclaimed master violinmaker. Fine violins, violas and cellos crafted by Eric are played by a number of premier players, concert performers and recording artists.
"Our new website is much more high tech than we are," admitted Benning. "We're old school, but we recognize the advantage of competing in the modern online marketplace.
"In other words, just because we're traditional in the personal and expert service we provide, and since we make instruments the same way the old masters did three hundred years ago, doesn't mean I don't want the best and most advanced website in industry."
Benning Violins has a long tradition of expert service and meeting the needs of collectors and the most discerning musicians - from the beginner to professional - since 1953.
