FORTWORTH, TX. (www.familynet.com) - Independent artist Pam Pierce is everywhere this holiday season, thanks to the television special Pam Pierce: The
Heart of Christmas. With promotion and marketing muscle usually reserved for key releases from major record labels, Pam's 30-minute live concert special is airing on several major television networks this month. Pam Pierce: The
Heart of Christmas has been picked up for national broadcast by CMT (Country
Music Television), FamilyNet, TBN, Daystar, Gospel
Music Television, Cornerstone Television, and World Harvest Television. The special will air multiple times on each network, with over 30 national and worldwide broadcasts planned before Christmas.
Television is not the only abnormality for this independent artist. While Pam loves performing in churches, her evangelistic tours primarily play in major theaters across the country. Performing with a full orchestra to sold-out audiences, Pam presents the attributes of God in a non-church environment.
"Music is so powerful," says Pam. "God uses music to encourage people, to realign our priorities, to draw those who don't know Him and ultimately to change us. This is the heart of our ministry, to use music as a tool to share the truths of scripture and to define what a Christ-centered life should reflect." But according to Pam, ministry does not end on the stage. "The special moments are after the concert. While the bus is being loaded, I love the opportunities to talk with people. They share their hearts, and their hurts. The real stuff in life. That is when real ministry begins."
Pam Pierce: The Heart of Christmas was filmed live with a full orchestra at the Orpheum Theatre. The sold-out performance is available this Christmas on a Special Edition CD & DVD package. Like the live DVD, the CD features studio versions of 11 Christmas classics including "
O Holy Night", "Angels We have Heard On High", "Have Yourself A Merry
Little Christmas", "Mary Did You Know?", and the soon to be Christmas classic "Sing Noel", an original song written for the CD by Christian music veteran Billy Smiley, who also produced the project.
Smiley also made music news recently for his involvement on another high-profile Christmas project. He co-wrote the title track of the highly-anticipated
Clay Aiken release, Merry Christmas With Love (RCA Records).
With three albums behind her, touring, and a television special being broadcast to millions of people worldwide, one might think Pam would be looking forward to resting in the new year. But Pam is currently back in the studio with producer Billy
Smiley working on a hymns project for Summer 2005. A 24-city theatre tour with a live orchestra will launch in June.
