New Showhive Production Show Acoustic Sessions Opens On Oceania Cruises
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Acoustic Sessions embodies our core philosophy that great live music, fantastic singers and authentic musical performances resonate with upper premium cruise audiences.

Creative development firm, showHive, Inc., debuted the hit show, Acoustic Sessions, onboard Oceania Cruise Lines. This innovative experience breaks the boundaries of traditional production entertainment by featuring 15 singers, dancers and musicians in a highly produced acoustic concert presented in an immersive, in-the-round performance venue. The show premiered on Oceania Cruises on May 1, 2016.

Emmett Murphy, showHive founder and Creative Producer, noted, "Acoustic Sessions embodies our core philosophy that great live music, fantastic singers and authentic musical performances resonate with upper premium cruise audiences. Nothing this groundbreaking has ever been performed at sea."

The show utilizes stunning multimedia visuals and lighting design created by showHive's Chief Technical Producer, Garrett Caine. "Working with the Oceania technical team, we were able to reconfigure the theater's lighting system to facilitate an up-close and personal audience experience," noted Mr. Caine. "The multimedia content for Acoustic Sessions also utilizes organic imagery to project a naturalistic environment as intimate as the music."

The soundtrack of Acoustic Sessions fuses together a playlist of the most successful songs of the 20th century pop music catalog and has been reimagined for an up-close and "unplugged" musical performance. The imaginative orchestral arrangements have been created by showHive's internationally acclaimed composer, Christian Tamburr. The line-up showcases smash-hits like Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" reimagined for a string quartet, a sensual and gritty arrangement of Aretha Franklin's "Respect," as well as a show-stopping acoustic tribute to the music of Michael Jackson.

Acoustic Sessions was conceived and directed by Emmett Murphy. Choreography was created by Broadway-vetted Jessica Hartman and Associate Choreographer Mark Myars. Costumes and wardrobe have been curated by New York fashion stylist, Tinka Welsh, with accompanying costume designs by the legendary, Mistinguett. The production team also includes Musical Director Nick DePinna, Lighting Programmer Chris Steckel, Audio Designer John Marsden, Multimedia Development by TJ Mitchell and Lighting Design by Garrett Caine.
