QRS Music Technologies Launches First Wearables App Built On The Kony Mobility Platform
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Kony, Inc., the leading enterprise mobility company, today announced it has helped QRS Music Technologies, Inc., home music entertainment innovator and leader in player piano technology, launch the first wearable mobile app for the piano and keyboard market. QRS Music unveiled the QRSPNO wearable app for the Apple Watch at the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) tradeshow and won the Keyboard 2016 Super NAMM Award for Innovation at the event.

Founded in 1900 by Melville Clark, QRS Music maintains its leadership in player piano technology from standard 88 note roll players to today's digital player piano systems. QRS Music designs and distributes Story & Clark pianos, and since its beginning, has continuously maintained the largest and most diverse player piano content library. To better serve the multiple customer use cases, QRS Music required a mobile platform that would unify their offerings and provide their customers with a convenient way to control their player piano and access its capabilities.

"QRS Music has a rich history of combining tradition and technology to meet the changing needs of our customers. We want to continue delivering value by offering innovative mobile apps that simplify their enjoyment of the player piano," said Thomas A. Dolan, president, QRS Music Technologies, Inc. "With the help of Kony's world-class expertise and market-leading platform, we're thrilled to offer the first wearable app for the piano and keyboard market. We built the QRS Music wearable app for the Apple Watch on the cloud-based Kony Mobility Platform because Kony has by far the best cross-platform mobile app development solutions in the market."

QRS Music first partnered with Kony to develop the QRS Finder mobile app that enables users to discover and open the QRS PNOmation operating system of their player piano from any mobile device. With that success, QRS Music and Kony collaborated to deliver the QRS PNO wearable app for the Apple Watch. The QRS PNO app puts the control of the customer's piano at their fingertips. It allows player piano users to discover and open the PNOmation system, view and play songs from the playlist, control the volume, deliver notifications of new music and software updates, and provides unique playback control for their piano.

"The digital/mobile transformation is impacting all industries," said Thomas E. Hogan, chairman and chief executive officer of Kony. "The power of mobile and wearables goes well beyond the traditional use cases in banking and healthcare. We are thrilled to work with QRS Music to bring Kony's mobile solutions to an industry that is at the core of the human experience - music."
