NEW YORK (Allman Bros Fans Website) - GREGG ALLMAN & FRIENDS will kick off a month-long winter tour January 19 in Norfolk, VA, with dates to be confirmed through late February. For the trek, GREGG - co-founder of the ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND - will be joined by ROBBEN FORD, guitar; WILLIE WEEKS, bass; NEIL LARSEN, keyboards; drummer STEVE POTTS; FLOYD MILES, percussion; and JAY COLLINS, CHRIS KARLIC and JIM SEALY on horns. GREGG will handle vocals, guitar and the Hammond B-3.

Beyond his work with the Grammy-winning, Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame group THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND, GREGG has been acclaimed for his solo albums Laid Back (1973), Playin' Up A Storm (1977), I'm No Angel (1986) and Searching For Simplicity (1997). He has toured as a solo artist regularly since his debut, and performs with the ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND several months a year.

In a recent feature on the group in Downbeat magazine (October '04), Mitch Myers said ALLMAN "...still possesses one of the all-time great singing voices, and his work on the Hammond B-3 (inspired by Jimmy Smith) is the instrumental glue that holds the band together."
