New York, NY (Top40 Charts) "Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na hes a boy from Wales called Gareth Bale!" and in honour of the handsome hero about to take Euro 2016 by storm, legendary Welsh pop bastions
Helen Love are back with a new single in honour of Cardiffs favourite son! Its ridiculously catchy, a glitter-pop bonanzato be honest, its the best football-inspired single since 'Eat My Goal' by Collapsed Lung. And you can quote us on that.

Following hot on the heels of the bands long-awaited 8th studio album Smash Hits (recently released to much critical acclaim on Alcopop! Records) its yet another welcome return to form from the rabble-rousing punk rock superstars, who are once again redefining what true punk really means.
Drafting in pals from near and far to take on dance duties for the lo-fi video, and commissioning the cult smash internet-famous Cheap Panini couple to draft the singles punk-as-fuck "pencil crayons are better than image licenses anyway" artwork, this is a single by the people, for the people, inspired by arguably the greatest contemporary footballer to ever don the dragon-red kit of Wales.
Love rarely play live, but have been dusting down their synths with shows at Le Pub and a sold out smash at The Lexington in London, and have pledged to take a look at rocking The
Millennium Stadium if Wales bring home the trophy.
A seminal band and bona fide indie pop legends, they have an indie label track history that reads like a discography of your favourite indie pop punk hits including the likes of Damaged Goods, Che, Wurlitzer Jukebox, Invicta Hi Fi, Sympathy For The Record Industry, Elefant and now Alcopop!
Helen Loves records are jam-packed with colourful icons and brilliant, endless nostalgic memories of the history of pop. The band and their music have previously been cult favourites of John Peel, Steve Lamacq (who labelled them "Welsh indie terrorists and made almost all of Helen's singles record of the week on his
Radio One evening session show), Dave Gorman, Mark Radcliffe, Phill Jupitus, Everett True, Tim Wheeler (ASH) and Joey Ramone himself, who personally invited them to play in New York and sing with him on one of his solo albums.
Helen sang on Joey Ramone's Mr Punchy track from his last solo album Don't Worry About Me and the punk rock star himself also appeared on a duet with Helen on a special version of her classic PunkBoy which was recorded for the Love and Glitter Hot Days and
Music album. Love stayed with Joey Ramone when he flew the band out to play a show in Greenwich Village, where they hung out eating sushi and playing video games.
Formed in Swansea in 1992, HELEN LOVE are probably the biggest Ramones fans in Wales, if not the entire United Kingdom, if not the world. Mixing that trademark punk sound with a little B-52's and a whole lot of indie irony, over the years theyve created a sunny and unapologetically disposable style that bursts into life like a saccharine disco-indie-punk piata.
Much loved and supported throughout the years by John Peel - with an impressive 3 top 10 entries in John Peels Festive Fifty (1996/97/98) - their 1997 Peel Session is still a personal and fan highlight for the band, as was the summer afternoon on which Peel, after playing Does Your
Heart Go Boom said with a sardonic laugh: "That's HELEN LOVE...the sarcastic bastards".
A Boy From Wales Called Gareth Bale is released on 10th June 2016 via Alcopop! Records
