Kendrick Lamar & Janelle Monae To Perform July 4th Concert At White House

New York, NY (Top40 Charts) As Politico reports, the Obamas are hosting a Fourth Of July celebration for military heroes and their families, which will include a concert featuring performances by Lamar and Janelle Monae, plus a barbecue and fireworks viewing from the White House's South Lawn.

President Obama has been an outspoken fan of Lamar's (naming "How Much A Dollar Cost" his favorite song of 2015 and admitting he favors Kendrick over Drake) while this will be Monae's second performance at the White House (she also recorded a song for first lady Michelle Obama's "Let Girls Learn" initiative earlier this year).

Lamar visited the White House in October and he turned his experience from the visit into a "Pay It Forward" promotional video, detailing the value of mentorship.
