Musicorps To Play Free Concert During The Democratic National Convention On July 26 At The Trocadero Theater In Philadelphia
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / MusiCorps) Featuring Performance by Internationally Acclaimed Singer Songwriter Aloe Blacc, this free concert is the only event in support and celebration of injured veterans taking place at the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. With over 1500 guests and over 35 federal and statewide elected officials, this will be the most talked about event of Tuesday.

WHAT: Formed in response to the crisis of returning service members injured in Iraq and Afghanistan, MusiCorps (https://musicorps.net) is a conservatory-level music rehabilitation program that helps wounded warriors play music and recover their lives.

It has been praised by the Wall Street Journal as "revolutionary," is pioneering in the field of adaptive music, and has helped countless wounded warriors learn or relearn how to play an instrument as a core part of their rehabilitation. With MusiCorps, disabilities disappear and severely injured veterans soar, reaching the highest levels of musical achievement. The band has wowed millions of people with powerful performances that speak to the talent and resilience of our veterans.

WHEN: Tuesday, July 26. Doors open at 10 PM, immediately following the conclusion of the evening's convention activities at the Wells Fargo Center.

WHERE: The Trocadero Theater at the corner of 10th and Arch Streets in Center City Philadelphia.

WHO: YOU and anyone else who wants to enjoy excellent music and pay tribute to our veterans. Several pop artists will perform with MusiCorps during the concert, including Aloe Blacc, Dilemma and WorldtownSoundSystem.

"I'm honored to perform with Music Corps. As the child of a retired Marine Corps Major, I know the hard work that military personnel do to protect our freedoms and we are all indebted to their service," said Blacc.

We've also brought together an impressive National Host Committee of leading elected officials, including - Sen. Tammy Baldwin (WI), Sen. Richard Biumenthal (CT), Rep. Julia Brownley (CA), Rep. Matt Cartwright (PA), Rep. Joe Courtney (CT), Rep. Ted Deutch (FL), Rep. John Garamendi (CA), Rep. Jim Langevin (RI), Rep. Seth Moulton (MA), Rep. Kathleen Rice (NY), Rep. Jeanne Shaheen (NH), Rep. Mark Takano (CA) and Rep. Mark Veasey (TX).

WHY: It's a 1500 person free concert with a tremendous lineup - It's a guaranteed good time during a week where everyone will need occasional breaks from raw politics (but just in case you can gossip with our host committee) - It's not just for a good cause, it's a tribute to the fearless veterans who have sustained injury in defense of our country.

HOW: We've created four opportunities for journalists, reporters, writers, photographers, bloggers and on-air personalities to attend, capture content and cover this event with a unique spin -

1. Write or post about the concert in advance. We encourage and appreciate any journalist who is willing to preview and promote the concert in advance. If you need additional content beyond what we've included herein, contact Ari Mittleman at [email protected]. Mittleman is a Pennsylvania native and the primary organizer of this concert. He is inspired to showcase Philadelphia's sense of community when the eyes of the world are on the DNC.

2. Schedule an advance, behind-the-scenes tour and briefing. Any on-air talent, videographers or photographers looking for interview and venue footage should consider attending a behind-the-scenes briefing at the Trocadero on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 26. We have availability at 12:45PM and 2:45PM - but space is limited, so you must email [email protected] to reserve your spot ASAP.

3. Bring your journalist credentials to the event and spend your evening scooping up performance clips and interviews for use in a post-event story. This event is OPEN to ALL PRESS - no approval or registration is required, just bring your creds.

4. Attend and enjoy the event like anyone else. Just make sure to bring your smartphone or camera with a full charge to capture photos videos, or even provide live social media updates to share the evening with your friends, fans and followers. If anything grabs your attention during the event, and you wish to cover it afterwards, we're happy to help you get additional information in the days that follow.
