New Zealand Drum & Bass Sensations Shapeshifter Reveal New Single 'Stars'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Acclaimed New Zealand drum & bass outfit Shapeshifter have unleashed their new single Stars, which is the first track taken from their brand new studio album, due out later this year.

Stars premiered with Clash who said, it's a bold return from the New Zealand band. Bulging with sub-low frequencies, it's a breaks-laden roller that echoes the power of those famed live sets. More than just a system smasher, though, it finds Shapeshifter placing renewed emphasis on the song - there's a finesse, a confidence to each twist and turn.

Featuring throbbing basslines, glistening synths and punchy breakbeats topped with the reggae tinged, soulful vocals of PDigsss, Stars is an uplifting electronic pop roller and the perfect embodiment of everything that fans around the globe have come to love about Shapeshifter.

Nick Robinson (bass/synths) explains, Stars is a bubbling, rolling, summery track on the D&B vibe. The instrumental track always seemed to be full of life and had some special kind of energy over quite a simple progression but when

Digsss came into the studio and laid down his vocal lines, there was magic in the air! I knew straight away it was going to the next level and is going to be a stonker live too.

Hailing from Christchurch, New Zealand, the genre-defying five piece have already seen success with four platinum selling albums charting at No. 1 in their homeland, alongside multiple hit singles. The upcoming new album follows its highly praised predecessor Delta which was released in 2013.

Delta again reached platinum status and featured the platinum selling single In Colour, earning the band the accolade of Best Group and Best Electronica Album at the New Zealand Music Awards.

Reaching out across the globe as well, their stadium-sized electronica has captured the hearts of an army of fans around the world. Playing sold-out shows across Europe including headline shows at both Londons The Forum and Shepherds Bush Empire in the past few years, the band have also made a big impact on the UK festival circuit with appearances at Glastonbury, Lovebox and Global Gathering.

And now with Stars and their upcoming album alongside a soon-to-be-announced major UK and European tour, Shapeshifter look set to cement themselves worldwide as one of the most electrifying bands around.
