LOS ANGELES (www.davekozcruise.com) - Renowned saxophonist Dave Koz has been honored with a Grammy nomination in the category of Best Pop Instrumental Album for Saxophonic, his latest album. Saxophonic has spent over 58 weeks on Billboard's Contemporary Jazz chart and yielded two No 1 Smooth Jazz singles. "Let It Free," his latest single, is currently No 15 on the R&R Smooth Jazz chart.

Prior to kicking off his eighth annual Smooth Jazz Christmas Tour last month with guitarist Norman Brown, keyboardist Brian Culbertson and vocalist Patti Austin, Koz performed on the 32nd Annual American Music Awards with Rod Stewart, who has featured Dave on all three of his Great American Songbook albums. Koz also collaborated with Dionne Warwick on her first Christmas album, My Favorite Time of the Year, joined numerous other smooth jazz stars on Fovever, For Always, For Luther, a tribute to R&B legend Luther Vandross, and contributed "Deck The Halls," to Sweet Tracks, Best Buy's second annual holiday CD featuring new recordings from the likes of Elton John, Melissa Etheridge, Pete Yorn and Maroon 5.

After the holidays, Koz will resume recording the follow-up to Saxophonic as well as Golden Slumbers II: A Father's Love, the follow-up to his 2002 Grammy-nominated Golden Slumbers, which was the first album released by Rendezvous Entertainment, an independent label that Dave co-founded.
And next fall Koz, who also hosts a morning radio show on Los Angeles' 94.7 ("The Wave") and "The Dave Koz Radio Show," a weekly syndicated radio show, will float the boats of smooth jazz fans with "Dave Koz & Friends at Sea," a week-long Holland America Line m/s Oosterdam cruise of the Mexican Riviera. The cruise departs from San Diego, CA on November 5, 2005. Guest artists will be announced shortly.
