New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Norene Now Publishing) Emerging Portland-based Singer-Songwriter KELSEY NORENE releases her debut EP titled "
Find Me" on August 16.
The 6-song EP was self-produced under her Norene Now Publishing banner in collaboration with LB7 Studio and Handcrafted Audio; and features the single "There's Still Time" which was pre-released to fans earlier this month.
"
Find Me" unveils a fresh sound that combines pop contemporary and pure heart. Kelsey explains, "The EP's title 'Find Me' -- means just that. It's my introduction to the world as an artist and I wanted each song to bring an element of vulnerability, emotion, and attitude."
The title track delivers a strong message about being needed and feeling worthy, even if others don't see you that way. Kelsey shares, "I think it's important to know your worth even if you feel overlooked or invisible. That's been a crucial lesson in my life so far, which is why I selected 'Find Me' as the title song for the EP."
Additional tracks on the EP deliver a strong mix of upbeat tunes and contemplative melodies, including "First Place," "At All," "Too Much to Lose" featuring
Benjamin Tissell, and "Last Words".
Kelsey brought in several Portland-based artists to accompany her, including Justin Abel (drums), Jon Oistad (bass), Jason Tamayo (guitar), and
Benjamin Tissell (featured vocals).
This rising artist has been performing practically her entire life. Kelsey's mother, who has an extensive background in music and music education, taught her daughter to both play piano and sing at a young age. During her teen years, Kelsey's passion for music really took hold and she began writing her own songs and taking guitar lessons. After graduating high school, Kelsey broadened her performing skills by studying acting and music in Los Angeles. Kelsey returned to Portland and in 2015 released her first single "You Knew", a soulful song of young love and heartbreak.
In addition to her music career, Kelsey has also become a working actress in Portland. Her notable credits include an appearance on TNT's action-adventure series The Librarians; and several commercial campaigns including the Oregon Lottery and Vonage among others.
