NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - Snoop Dogg has initiated a lawsuit against a woman who accused him of assault, demanded $5 million.
Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, filed his suit at a Los Angeles courthouse on 10 December (2004), in which he denies being involved in the reported attack at a 2003 concert. The unnamed defendant, publicly known only as "Jane Doe", is accused of trying to extort US$5 million from the rapper.

It is alleged that the woman threatened to sell her story to the press if Snoop deosn't pay her the blackmail money. The woman claimed she was assaulted during a Snoop performance in 2003.
The West Coast rapper sued for punitive damages and prevention of future threats.

Snoop's publicist Meredith O´Sullivan offered no additional information about the alleged assault, the Associated Press reported, and also declined to name the woman's attorneys.
