New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The movie has a great message of tolerance and acceptance, and it made me laugh out loud, which isn't easy to do. We're very excited to include it in this year's festival line-up.

Ten years after the lighthearted superhero comedy "Surge of Power: The Stuff of Heroes" first hit the big screens during its release, its long-anticipated sequel, "Surge of Power: Revenge of the Sequel," directed by Antonio Lexerot and produced by Vincent J. Roth, will debut on both the East and West Coasts.

With more than 50 celebrities, the film is jam-packed with quickly recognizable Hollywood talent, including Nichelle Nichols who played Lt. Uhura in the original Star Trek, Linda Blair, who played Regan MacNeil in The Exorcist, Eric Roberts who played The Master in Doctor Who, Robert Picardo, the Doctor in Star Trek: Voyager and many other stars whose fans will quickly recognize from their appearances in other superhero movies. The sequel trailer can be seen by clicking here.

Thursday, September 8, 8:00PM, the Burbank International Film Festival will host the film's first red carpet event before its world premiere screening at the Burbank AMC 16 Theatres, 125 E. Palm Avenue, Burbank, California. Meanwhile, on the other side of the continent, Saturday, September 10, 6:00PM the film's twin world premiere will be held at Space Coast Comic Con, Space Coast Convention Center, Panel Room 1, inside the Holiday Inn Express, 301 Tucker Lane, Cocoa, Florida. Burbank Film Festival President and Director, Jeff Rector, who is responsible for bringing the film to a west coast audience, states, "The movie has a great message of tolerance and acceptance, and it made me laugh out loud, which isn't easy to do. We're very excited to include it in this year's festival line-up."

For fans who can't wait, the third largest comic convention in the world - Salt Lake Comic Con - is hosting a sneak preview Friday, September 2, 11:00AM, at the Salt Palace Convention Center, Room 151A, 100 S.W. Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. An additional screening is also scheduled in San Diego, Saturday, October 1, 1:00PM at the San Diego Who Con (Doctor Who convention), Town and Country Resort and Convention Center, 500 Hotel Circle North, San Diego, California.

The movie's producer, Vincent J. Roth, describes the movie as both quality and fun entertainment with a clear message saying, "Even after 10 years since the first Surge of Power movie was released, there still hasn't been another openly gay superhero on the big screen. As a filmmaker, I am compelled to present our genuinely groundbreaking characters and the fun world we created to a mainstream audience again." The movie's inspirational tagline, "Make a Difference Where You Can" is the moral of the story, but to get there, a lot of evil and skullduggery has to be dealt with heroically and humorously!

The first movie, "Surge of Power: The Stuff of Heroes," a comedy spoof of the superhero genre, generated its own modest cult following and features 20 celebrity appearances, including Lou Ferrigno from The Incredible Hulk and the late Noel Neill who played Lois Lane in the Adventures of Superman, among others. Critics called the original "fun and campy," "unique and daring," and "a lighthearted and fun movie filled with double entendres and hilarious scenes." "Surge of Power: The Stuff of Heroes" is available for immediate viewing through the website https://www.surgeofpower.org while its sequel, "Surge of Power: Revenge of the Sequel" will be exhibiting at film festivals and conventions around the world. Sequel star Shannon Farnon, Wonder Woman from SuperFriends!, says, "I have no doubt this will be one of the most talked about independent films of the year. Even the title brings laughter. And I know the world is ready for a gay superhero."
