LOS ANGEELS (Counting Crows Official Website/Universal/ www.solters.com) - Songwriter and recording artist Adam Duritz of Counting Crows along with band members David Bryson, David Immergluck, Matthew Malley and Dan Vickrey have received multiple award nominations for their song 'Accidentally in Love' featured in Dreamworks' 2004 animated film 'Shrek 2'.
Written expressly for the film, 'Accidentally in Love' is nominated for a Grammyß in the 'best song written for a motion picture, television or other visual media' category, for a Golden Globe in the 'best original song – motion picture' category and for a Critic's Choice Award in the 'best song' category.

Adam Duritz was contacted via his management by 'Shrek 2' Executive Producer Jeffrey Katzenberg to create an upbeat tune reflecting the main character's relationship. The Counting Crows were on tour and time was set aside for a private viewing of the first few moments of the animated feature.
"I don't usually write on command,' stated Duritz. 'Not that it's more difficult to write for a movie or anything - it's just that I write when I write. But I happened to be going through something in my life right then that strangely fit."

Duritz fell in love with the film and it's characters. His personal life reflected the emotional relationship that is the centerpiece of 'Shrek 2' and the subject of the song. It was symbiotic and the result speaks for itself.

'Accidentally in Love' has become a multi-format radio hit helping the 'Shrek 2' soundtrack to soar up both the pop album and soundtrack charts where it reached the number one position. The song is also included in the Counting Crows best of 'Films About Ghosts', which was re-released in November 2004.
