Limp Bizkit Whips Up Remix Album, DVD

LOS ANGELES (AP) - While Limp Bizkit fans may be wishing for some new material this holiday season, what they actually will get is a remix album, said to be titled "Limp Remizkit," according to a post from frontman Fred Durst on the band's official Web site.
Interscope Records was unable to provide a release date for what Durst promises to be a "tight ass remix album." A companion DVD will also be released.

Durst and Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland, as well as DJ Premier, Timbaland, DJ Lethal, P. Diddy, the Neptunes, William Orbit, and Josh Abraham will provide remixes. Guests on the album include Bubba Sparxxx, 8 Ball, and E-40. As for the DVD, Durst promises "ill home footage from the beginning till now," including every Limp Bizkit video, studio outtakes, and downloadable screensavers and wallpapers.

Currently, Durst is in Los Angeles working on a rock version of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On," to be released Oct. 23 by Columbia, alongside pop and R&B renditions of the song. As previously reported, proceeds will benefit AIDS research and terrorist attack relief efforts.

The rock version will feature Bono, Stone Temple Pilots' Scott Weiland, Jane's Addiction's Perry Farrell, Korn's Jonathan Davis, and Deadsy's Elijah Blue. Bono, who is the subject of much gushing in Durst's online post, spearheaded the project.

Last week, Durst posted on the site that the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11 had deeply affected his creative process. "Our inspiration has just been jolted into overdrive since the [World Trade Center] incidents," Durst wrote. "It's time for a change. It's time make life better. If we don't make it better, no one will."
