Instrumental New Age Composer Janice Lacy Project Releases Full-Length Album Sanctuary For The Soul
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Pianist/Composer Janice Lacy is releasing her much anticipated first album, Sanctuary For The Soul (ShoreLight Records), recorded by her band, the Janice Lacy Project, a Los Angeles-based recording and performance group. With a musical emphasis on melody, relaxation, and healing, this first release showcases 14 beautiful compositions by Lacy and the superb playing of the talented musicians who collaborate in the Janice Lacy Project. It is produced and arranged by Grammy-nominated contemporary jazz composer Rob Mullins (producer/keyboards), who has had three solo records reach the Billboard's Top Ten Charts. Grammy-nominated artist Greg Scelsa (Greg and Steve) is consulting producer, and the album was recorded and mastered by Grammy-nominated engineer Carmen Grillo at Big Surprise Music in Los Angeles, CA.

Janice Lacy Project consists of pianist/composer Janice Lacy, Rob Mullins (piano, digital keyboards, percussion), Jeness (cello), Larry Antonino (bass guitar), and Tony Braunagel (drums/percussion). Jeness performs all over the world with such notable acts as K.D. Lang, Kenny Loggins, James Taylor, and the La Scala Quartet; Larry Antonino (bass guitar) has performed with Air Supply, Pablo Cruise, and Barry Manilow and is also recognized for his roles in the films That Thing You Do! (1996), Playing by Heart (1998), and Blind Obsession (2002); Tony Braunagel (drums/percussion) has played with the Robert Cray Band and is currently performing in Phantom Blues Band.

"My goal was to write beautiful, calming melodies that convey a range of emotions that create a peaceful refuge and sanctuary for the listener," said Lacy. The album is filled with gentle cello melodies that glide alongside the piano delivering a cultivating mix, formulating the right sounds for relaxation.

Grammy Nominated Producer and Composer Arun Shenoy called it "a beautiful new age album… [with] superb songwriting across the album, and lovely dynamics…Crisp production and concise arrangements." MuzikMan Reviews echoes the sentiment: "By the time you are done listening to Sanctuary For The Soul, you will realize that the Janice Lacy Project have created a superb debut album that can be appreciated by any true music fan."
