New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Austrian experimental pop band Mile Me Deaf will release their official US debut Alien Age this Friday, October 14th via Old Flame Records. The side project of underground Viennese icon Wolfgang Möstl, Mile Me Deaf deliver fuzzy lo-fi tunes with a quirky twist without taking themselves all too serious. A sneak peak of the full album premieres today on Ones To Watch who raved "we're immediately overwhelmed with a sense of boundless psychedelia. Old voice recordings are intertwined with the Austrian band's Rooney-esque vocals and stimulatingly eerie screeches to take listeners out of reality and into their dreamworld of choice."

"When I recorded the previous record Eerie Bits of Future Trips, I already dismissed the guitar on some of the songs and used more electronic elements, still wanting it to sound like a 4 piece rock group," Möstl told Ones To Watch. "For Alien Age I pushed it a little bit further and banned the guitars on almost every track and tried to move away from band things. I used a lot of old and self made cassettes, cutting and sampling it on a MPC1000 to get kind of an old school Hip Hop vibe, which had an major influence on some of the songs, as well as late 80s Berlin Techno and various European Folk music. One of the main tasks of the editing process was to make it still sound like a MMD record in the end. Most of the lyrics deal with first world problems and how humanity gets weirder every day."

Mile Me Deaf is primarily composed of Möstl, but as a band, they are a fully functional rock and roll cabaret who have shared the stage with The War on Drugs, Kurt Vile, and My Bloody Valentine. Möstl has been dubbed the noisepop whizzkidd of Vienna dating back to his earlier bands Killed by 9V Batteries and Sex Jams. Mile Me Deaf is his solo-project which showcases his obsessions with 90's guitar tunes, quirky pop melodies and Jim Carrey movies. NME raved and rewarded their last album 8 out of 10 and The Line of Best Fit claimed "Wolfgang Möstl is the genius you have never heard of. No matter how hip with the buzz-blogs you are, there is a good chance the Austrian lo-fi noise-fuzz indiepop scene was missed, which is almost criminal."
