Jazz Crooner Ken Slavin Brings "Shaken, Not Stirred" To San Antonio's Tobin Center
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Fresh from his latest acclaimed performance at New York's world-famous Metropolitan Room, the Alamo City's top jazz crooner will bring "Ken Slavin: Shaken, Not Stirred" to the Carlos Alvarez Studio Theater at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday, November 10, at 7:30 p.m. The concert is a fundraiser for the San Antonio AIDS Foundation.

Tickets are $50 for general admission and $150 for VIP seating, which includes a signed CD and a post-concert "meet and greet" and photo with the artist. A cash bar will be available, as well. Tickets may be purchased at www.TobinCenter.org or by calling 210-223-8624.

A "turbo-charged" version of Slavin's latest New York appearance, the concert will feature a four-piece jazz combo and a two-act performance spotlighting some of the best "saloon" songs of the classic jazz tradition, including timeless material by Great American Songbook legends Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, Burton Lane, Jimmy Van Heusen, George and Ira Gershwin and others.

The popular singer has racked up numerous awards and glowing reviews across the country and overseas. His CDs are programmed on traditional and internet radio stations in the USA, Europe and Asia. He is currently featured on the "Singers and Swing" channel of cable TV's Music Choice network, as well as Spotify and most other major online music sites.

Slavin's newest CD, "You Gotta Have Heart: Live at The Metropolitan Room in New York," was executive-produced by Paul Boskind, who won a Tony Award for his production of the Broadway revival of "The Normal Heart" in 2011. Boskind also recently co-produced the Tony-nominated "Mothers and Sons," starring Tyne Daley. The CD will be offered as part of the November 10 VIP package.

A voting member of the GRAMMY Awards, Slavin has opened for such jazz legends as The Four Freshmen, Eddie Palmieri, Dee Dee Bridgewater, David Sanborn and Chico Hamilton. He also has performed in concert with the internationally acclaimed Jim Cullum Jazz Band, legendary New York-based jazz pianist Johnny O'Neal and award-winning jazz drummer Gerry Gibbs, son of renowned jazz vibraphonist Terry Gibbs.
