New York, NY (Top40 Charts / L.A. LIVE) The self-proclaimed wealthiest man in Las
Vegas and producer of the hit show ABSINTHE by Spiegelworld, The Gazillionaire said today he needs more cash and plans to launch a second production of ABSINTHE, the #1 Greatest Show in Las
Vegas history according to Las
Vegas Weekly, for a limited engagement starting Wednesday, March 22 at L.A. LIVE.
"Once you have a lot of money, and then add fame to it, family comes out of the woodwork asking for a cut. I have a lot of not-so-legitimate children that have been filing some apparently legitimate claims," said The Gazillionaire. "I am constantly being hit up to support them by those shysters who promote themselves on billboards along the Interstate. The easiest way for me to pay for this is to start a new production of my incredibly successful show ABSINTHE and then the lawyers can split the cash and leave my enormous wad alone."
Absinthe at L.A. LIVE, Starting March 22
Inspired by the absinthe-drenched cabarets of late 19th century Europe, ABSINTHE, is an adult-themed cocktail of circus, comedy, burlesque and vaudeville for a 21st century audience. Guests enter the seductively intimate environment of Spiegelworld's tent where the artists perform on a central circular stage only 9 feet in diameter. In Las Vegas, ABSINTHE has been playing to sold-out audiences at the world's most famous casino,
Caesars Palace, since 2011 and celebrates its sixth anniversary there in April.
The New York Times said, "Imagine Cirque du Soleil as channeled through The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Stage and Cinema said, "Loud, abrasive and in your face … the show wears its vulgarity like a badge of honor. The large audience whooped and hollered through the entire evening." The
Chicago Sun-Times said, "Totally off-the-wall, sexy, funny, unabashedly raunchy." Huffington Post has said, "If you only see one show in your entire life, make it ABSINTHE. It reminded me of what's great about Vegas."
Las
Vegas Weekly, in naming ABSINTHE the #1 greatest show in Las
Vegas history ever, said, "A performance of ABSINTHE is almost criminally fun. It is the domain of the Gazillionaire, the gold-toothed, foul-mouthed, lecherous dirtbag who runs the show. For the entirety of ABSINTHE's 90 wildly entertaining minutes, you feel like you've discovered something new, or stumbled onto a secret meeting of acrobats, dancers and reprobates. And the first thing you want to do after is tell everyone you know."
Spiegelworld's Impresario Extraordinaire Ross Mollison said, "ABSINTHE is a rare opportunity to see extreme circus acts performed in an intimate environment by some of the world's most sexy and talented artists. Given the ever growing demand for the production, we are delighted that The Gazillionaire has agreed to a limited run in Los Angeles," said Mollison.
Celebrities regularly flock to join the audience and have included Britney Spears,
James Franco, Neil Patrick Harris,
Rebel Wilson, DJ Steve Aoki,
Olivia Newton-John, Pink,
Channing Tatum, Idina Menzel, Melissa McCarthy, Vince Young, Kaley Cuoco, Ice-T and Coco,
David Copperfield, Tony Hawk and more.
The Gazllionaire has already collected dozens of trophies (he only keeps the platinum ones), awards, "Best Ofs" and "Top Tens" from Time Out.com, DailyStar.co.uk,
Vegas Best of City Awards, Travel and Leisure, Thrillist.com, Fox News, Broadway World Awards, Trippy Awards, Las
Vegas Digital Media Awards, and
Vegas Chatter Awards, among others. It was voted Best Adult Show by readers and staff of the Las
Vegas Review-Journal.
