BOSTON, MA. (www.lostcityangels.com) - There's an uprising happening in New England and it's not going to be pretty. Boston's punk upstarts LOST CITY ANGELS are gearing up for the release of Broken World on Stay Gold Records/Universal on April 4, 2005. The album was recorded at Camp Street Studios in Cambridge, MA and produced, mixed and engineered by powerhouse team Sean
Slade and Paul Q. Kolderie (The Pixies, Radiohead, Hole).
Comprised of drummer Adam Shaw, guitarist Drew Suxx, bassist Duggan, guitarist Nick Bacon and vocalist Ron Ragona, Lost City Angels combine the danger of early 90s punk metal with the slash and burn stylings of
Boston hardcore with a wee bit of melodic indie rock for good measure. Far from the lame-ass "faux punk" wannabes of late, these Bostonians carry the torch that Social D and
Dropkick Murphys have proudly held ablaze.
"Broken World is the culmination of hard work and self-sacrifice," explains Ron. "Each of us have gone through considerable growth and change since first getting together and this album really shows where we've been mentally and musically... and also where were going as a band." Adds Nick, "We got down in the trenches while everything surrounding us was going to hell, and wrote and wrote. Meanwhile people around us were dying, friends were being sent to die for what we couldn't understand, and without getting into it, murder and addiction were a constant shadow. So we took time to work on our songs, and make sure they could be the best and most honest representation of what the Lost City Angels are about."
Formed in 2000 in Boston, Lost City Angels went through lots of personal hardship, record label politics, and everyday struggle. But their fierce never-say-die spirit kept them afloat, touring constantly since 2001 with such heavy hitters as Social Distortion, The Living End, Flogging Molly, Andrew WK, Dropkick Murphys, Misfits, The Dwarves, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Further Seems Forever, Autopilot Off, Unseen, and Reel Big Fish. Lost City Angels have brought their sounds to the masses through any resource possible. Now with the help of Stay Gold Records, they're planning on kicking it hardcore with major tours planned for
Spring and Summer.
