NEW YORK (MURK PR team) - It's no secret that Miami's South Beach is America's dance music capital. While the near perfect weather, beautiful people and loads of quality clubs have helped to create a thriving scene, there is only one act that can be singled out it's true architect's. That act is Murk.

Murk (A.K.A. Oscar G. and Ralph Falcon) are the dominant force behind Miami's dance music scene. Oscar G is resident at Space Miami and Ralph Falcon is resident at Crobar Miami - The city's two most powerful clubs; and the pair has reaped many international awards for their marathon DJ sets. As producers, they created the quintessential dark and dirty 'Miami sound' with recordings as Murk and under other aliases. The most infamous track and global sensation, 'Fired Up' was released in 1996 under the Funky Green Dogs moniker and stormed up the global dance charts. Thanks to the catchy hook, 'You got me fired up / fired up / you got me so,' the song remains one of the definitive summer party tracks. In 2002, Murk had another hit on their hands with 'Dark Beat,' a track that spent 3 weeks at number one on the Billboard Club Play Chart.

In a move sure to warm up the frozen Big Apple, Murk will launch a brand new monthly residency at New York City's Crobar. The initial performance will take place on Friday, January 21 and subsequent performances will follow on the second Friday of each month. Oscar and Ralph will switch off DJ duties throughout the evening.

Crobar is a logical destination for the on-fire Murk because the club is the venue of choice for New York's clubbing elite. The club recently hosted performances from world class talents including John Digweed, Deep Dish and Paul van Dyk, and is currently New York home base for Sasha and Sander Kleinenberg. If that isn't hot enough, here comes Murk to scorch Crobar's dance floor!

Here's what Murk has to say about their new residency:
'Following the success of my Miami residency with CROBAR, I am honored to be asked to continue this in New York - a city which has always been as source of inspiration to me and Oscar. We both love the Crobar New York space, and we can't wait to inject some Miami into the space."
– Ralph Falcon

'We are eagerly looking forward to bringing the Miami flavor to New York City. Ralph and I have been looking for a home in New York for some time now and we can't think of a better place than Crobar. We hope to build a special monthly event where we can expose New Yorkers to the hot and sexy Miami vibe.' – Oscar G.
