Warner Music Group's Ron Wilcox Appointed To SoundExchange Board Of Directors
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / SoundExchange) SoundExchange today announced the appointment of Ron Wilcox of Warner Music Group (WMG) to its Board of Directors. Wilcox serves as WMG's Executive Counsel, Business Affairs, Strategic and Digital Initiatives and is known for his extensive background in the music industry.

Wilcox's appointment took effect January 1, 2017, and he replaces Jeff Walker of Sony Music Entertainment Inc.

"I am proud to welcome Ron to the SoundExchange Board of Directors. His range of experience and record of accomplishments make him a perfect fit for a dynamic organization like SoundExchange, and I know Ron will serve as a strong advocate for all music creators," SoundExchange President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Huppe said.

The SoundExchange Board of Directors is comprised of 18 individuals, split evenly between artist representatives and label representatives, serving virtually all aspects of the recorded music industry.

Ron Wilcox is Executive Counsel, Business Affairs, Strategic and Digital Initiatives, for Warner Music Group (WMG). He advises WMG's Digital Business Development and Digital Legal Affairs Departments regarding global digital strategy, business development, and related areas, while overseeing the Digital Legal Affairs Department. Prior to WMG, at Sony Music, Wilcox served as Executive Vice President, Business Affairs and New Technology, and subsequently as Executive Vice President, Chief Business and Legal Affairs Officer. Among other activities, Wilcox serves on the T.J. Martell Foundation's Board of Directors, and the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, Inc. (NARAS) Foundation's Entertainment Law Initiative Executive Committee, of which he is past chair. He graduated from The College of Wooster and University of Michigan Law School.
