New York, NY (Top40 Charts) With a musical journey that spans over 20 years, Panteón Rococó, the iconic Latin Ska band and currently one of the biggest drawing acts from Mexico, are ready for the long-awaited debut at the international music festival and conference SXSW in Austin, with two major performances.

This band that began their journey in 1995 in the midst of the Zapatista movement in Mexico, with a social commitment and an activist outlook, is starting this year by accepting an invitation to SXSW where they will hold 2 concerts and participate in several promotional activities in Austin, Texas. Panteón Rococó's first performance will take place on the SXSW Outdoor Stage at Lady Bird Lake, The All Latino Resist Concert Presented by Voto Latino, a free event that is open to the public, together with Residente (Calle 13) and L.A. band Ozomatli, on Thursday, March 16.

The second show will be presented by Kichink On at the Half Step (75 1/2 Rainey St), on Friday, March 17.

2016 has been a significant year for Panteón Rococó on many levels, a year in which they devoted their time to keep celebrating two decades of musical career mostly throughout Mexico, with major performances at fairs, sports arenas and festivals. It was the year their eighth album was released, a CD/DVD (Sony Music) recorded live at the CDMX Arena in mid-2015 during their 20th anniversary concert, with an audience of over 23,000 people, a venue at full capacity. A few weeks after this release they earned a Gold Record for sales of said album.

During that same year the group toured Canada for the first time and returned to Europe, where they are very popular in many countries, in order to participate in Fusion FEST, one of the biggest and most popular festivals on the old continent. They finished the year with a show in the Mexican capital on December 3, at Palacio de los Deportes with a sold-out attendance of 25,000, a concert that ended an important stage for Panteón Rococó with great energy, dance and resistance, confirming again the group's current drawing power.

The group is currently in the process of writing the songs for their new studio-recorded album and their U.S. tour has been confirmed for the second half of the year.
