Trump Inspired, Consumerism Mired Video "Cheap Shit From China" From Tarrant
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Tarrant, one of Richmond VA.'s leading lights on the city's bourgeoning music scene, is set to make America grate again with the release of their humorous social and political single "Cheap Shit From China" tomorrow, Friday May 17 from Funzalo Records. From The Snuggie to The Clapper, America loves a bargain. But does America really need any of this stuff? That question is at the crux of Tarrant's four-minute "Cheap Shit From China" video. It freely skewers America's obsession with consumerism while it also raises the notion that Americans love a bargain so much, they will buy anything to save them time and money…even if they don't need it.

Moreover, the video pokes fun at our Commander-in-Chief who sells nationalism as long as he's able to sell his own product as cheap shit from China to make a few more bucks. Clips include images of Donald Trump ties, shirts and "Make America Great Again" hats as well as his daughter Ivanka Trump's line of sweaters, shoes et all bearing the 'Made in China' label. The video ends with a clip of Mike Judge's iconic film Idiocracy featuring a gargantuan landfill of cheap shit, that is as big as a mountain range, ready to crumble under its own weight.

Think of this video as an artistic rebuke to President Trumps populism. A creative ying to Trumps' erroneous wire tapp (sic) yang. It's a humorous visual aside juxtaposing his series of baseless late night Twitter posts which culminate in an endless series of terrifying CNN Breaking News updates each day. Or more succinctly: A NEW LOW! SAD!
