Lakeshore Records In Conjunction With Invada Records Presents 'Free Fire' Soundtrack
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Lakeshore Records, in conjunction with Invada Records, will release the FREE FIRE - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally on March 31, 2017. The album features songs from The Real Kids, Creedence Clearwater Revival and two classic tracks by John Denver, plus original score by Geoff Barrow and Ben Salisbury (EX MACHINA, BLACK MIRROR: MEN AGAINST FIRE).

Compiled by director Ben Wheatley himself, the soundtrack features the full score by Geoff Barrow & Ben Salisbury, dialogue from the film and license tracks (The Real Kids - Do The Boob // Creedence Clearwater Revival - Run Through The Jungle // John Denver - Annie's Song // John Denver - This Old Guitar).

"It was brilliant to work with Ben Wheatley, Amy Jump and the Rook Films crew again after my experience with them for High Rise," said Barrow. "Creating a pub prog band proved great fun for Ben Salisbury and I as it needed to represent the characters in the film that were mostly loose cannons and lunatics and we needed to try and reflect them in all their idiosyncratic glory."

"We wanted to create an old fashioned soundtrack album, where the listening experience reminds you of the fun and excitement of watching the film. So we've included on the album choice cuts of the most important aspects of Free Fire's soundtrack -‐ the amazing symphony of gunshots created by sound designer Martin Pavey, and the brilliant dialogue you hear in between the gunfire," Salisbury added.

Free Fire sees Barrow and Salisbury take a huge directional curve away from their intense, synth-‐based Ivor Novello award winning score for Ex Machina, with the composers curating a prog-‐rock, free-‐jazz, psychedelic journey influenced by bands such as King Crimson, Camel and Magma and tips its hat to the Lalo Schifrin thriller genre scores of that era. The score features musical luminaries Clive Deamer (Radiohead/Portishead), Billy Fuller (Robert Plant/Beak), Jason Hazeley (Portishead) and Ross Hughes (Portishead), and Jerry Crozier-Cole (Pee Wee Ellis).

Bold, breathless and wickedly fun, Free Fire is an electrifying action comedy about an arms deal that goes spectacularly and explosively wrong. Acclaimed filmmaker Ben Wheatley (Kill List, High Rise) propels the audience head-on into quite possibly the most epic shootout ever seen on film as he crafts a spectacular parody -- and biting critique -- of the insanity of gun violence. Everyone's got a gun, and absolutely no one is in control.

Set in a colorful yet gritty 1970s Boston, Free Fire opens with Justine (Oscar® winner Brie Larson), a mysterious American businesswoman, and her wise-cracking associate Ord (Armie Hammer) arranging a black-market weapons deal in a deserted warehouse between IRA arms buyer Chris (Cillian Murphy) and shifty South African gun runner Vernon (Sharlto Copley). What starts as a polite if uneasy exchange soon goes south when tensions escalate and shots are fired, quickly leading to a full-on Battle Royale where it's every man (and woman) for themselves.

Geoff Barrow and Ben Salisbury co-composed the feature film score for Alex Garland's Oscar® winning sci-fi thriller Ex Machina, winning the 2016 Ivor Novello award for Best Original Film Score. Together, the pair also write and perform as electronic act Drokk and in 2012 they released the album "Drokk: Music Inspired by Mega-City One." Barrow is a British music producer, composer and founding member of the band Portishead. He wrote the original score for Banksy's film Exit Through the Gift Shop, also serving as music supervisor. Ben Salisbury is an Emmy Award®-nominated film and television composer whose previous credits include the last three of David Attenborough's Life Of series and Beyonce's self-directed documentary feature, Beyonce: Life Is But a Dream.
