New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Xenia Ghali's March, 2016 single, "Under These Lights" reached #1 on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart only three months after hitting the airwaves.

Her March, 2016 single, "Under These Lights" reached #1 on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart only three months after hitting the airwaves. Now, "Places" - which came out on her own artist label, Funky Sheep Records, last December - has achieved the same standing in the chart positions corresponding to the week of May 6th.

Curiously enough, the evolution of Xenia Ghali's own style as an EDM producer can still be heard from one release to the next. The thunderous, main stage-friendly synth lead at the drop of "Under These Lights" seems to have given way to the deep, gravelly bass line of "Places" at just the perfect time; the promising talent came to favor softer sounds around the same time the average EDM fan came to do the same.

Xenia Ghali herself attributes the sound of "Places" to musical influences during her time studying music composition, film scoring and production at the University of Surrey (before relocating to NYC to pursue a master's in the same at New York University). For the vocal, she tapped vocalist and actress Raquel Castro, who herself appeared on such television programs as Empire and Jersey Girls. Both Ghali and Castro made cameos opposite actor Ryan Kelley in the official music video for "Places," which was directed by Shal Ngo of Acres New York.

As if "Places" hadn't already received a warm enough reception, Xenia Ghali and Raquel Castro were invited to Fox 5 NY's Good Morning New York to perform the infectious single live. Shortly thereafter, Ghali also delivered a live keyboard performance of Faithless' classic turn of the millennium hit, "Insomnia," alongside Greek pop star Giorgios Mazonakis at the most recent edition of Madwalk Fashion Show.

With the success of "Places," Xenia Ghali has not only proven herself the caliber of artist capable of joining some of EDM's greats atop the list - she has demonstrated that her 2016 success was no momentary flash in the pan. "Places" takes the spot of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Diplo's "Hey Baby" ft. Deb's Daughter at #1 on Billboard's Dance Club Songs, with the latter track now sitting at #6. The #2 and #3 spots are now held by Alesso's "Falling" and Sigma's "Find Me" ft. Birdy, respectively.

"My second #1 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart… How does someone even react to that? I am so incredibly humbled and blessed! I want to thank each and every person who is supporting! 'Places' is a record that my team and I really believe in."
