Santoyo counts classical melodies, modern aesthetics and film music among his inspirations, and ESSENCE weaves threads of each into a harmonic tapestry that is somehow greater than the sum of its parts. From the bright melodies of "
New World" and "Just Us" to the optimistic swells of "Leaving Behind" and the dreamy touch of "Nenita" and "Morning Light," evokes peace while the listener spends time in Santoyo's world. The artist even throws in some surprises, like the choral/orchestral feel of "
Elevation" and a combination of vocal tracks and Spanish guitar on "
Discovery" but Santoyo and his piano are the soul of ESSENCE.
"...my compositions are stories told through music, music that evokes memories, desires, emotions, embedded in our minds, in our hearts, in our souls…," Alejandro explained.

Born in South Bend, Indiana, world-class pianist and composer Alejandro Santoyo has lived in the U.S.,
Europe and Latin America, all of which have influenced his soulful sound. Santoyo began playing the piano by ear and composing when he was just seven and spent the ensuing decades developing and refining his unique, evocative sound. An active performer, composer and producer throughout the U.S. and internationally, Santoyo infuses his music with an energy that creates a deep connection with the listener's soul.
