New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Last month, organizers behind Chicago's Riot Fest (September 15-17 at
Douglas Park) unveiled eight of the ten influential albums to be played in full by select artists, and today they've announced the final two: Danzig III: How the Gods Kill and Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).
Danzig and
Wu-Tang Clan join previously-announced full-album performances by Dinosaur Jr. (You're Living All Over Me), The
Mighty Mighty Bosstones (Let's Face It), Built to Spill (Keep It Like A Secret), Fishbone (Truth & Soul),
Bayside (The Walking Wounded),
Mayday Parade (A Lesson In Romantics), The Lawrence Arms (Oh, Calcutta!) and that dog. (Retreat From the Sun).
Glenn Danzig returns to friendly Riot Fest turf, doubling down on last year's triumphant and unforgettable reunion of The Misfits. This time he'll be bringing his iconic band Danzig to celebrate the 25th anniversary of 1992's Danzig III: How the Gods Kill. In a 4-star review of the album, Rolling Stone magazine said that Danzig "embodies the best in contemporary hard rock while displaying an originality that transcends genres. Rock is alarmingly short of visionaries these days; Danzig is the genuine article." That assessment was on display twenty-four years later when The Misfits headlined Riot Fest, and come September, Danzig will surely take the festival by storm.
Speaking of twenty-five years ago: that's when the
Wu-Tang Clan was sequestered on Staten Island (aka Shaolin), piecing together their challenge to the West Coast scene that would become one of the most definitive debut albums of all time - and we're not just talking hip-hop. Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) not only put this nine-armed monster on the map, but its use of eerie sounds and classic soul music samples (with a healthy dose of old martial arts movie clips) influenced a whole generation of artists and producers.
Riot Fest has also announced its single-day lineups. Heading up Friday night's lineup is Nine Inch Nails, New Order, A Day to Remember,
Vic Mensa and Ministry. Danzig joins Saturday's festivities alongside Queens of the Stone Age, Wu-Tang Clan, a DJ set from The Beastie Boys' Mike D as well as the recently-announced At the Drive In. Closing out the festival on Sunday will be Jawbreaker, Paramore, Prophets of Rage, M.I.A., TV on the
Radio and Dinosaur Jr.
Single-day (starting at $69.98) and two-day (starting at $139.98) tickets go on sale Friday, June 23 at 10:00AM CDT. Riot Fest Three-Day Passes are on sale now, with General Admission and VIP options via Ticketfly.

The festival will once again feature a full-scale carnival with rides, games of chance and of course, the Hellzapoppin' Sideshow Revue freak show, which will see a much extended footprint from prior years. To satisfy the refined palates of Riot patrons, there will be over 40 unique and diverse food and beverage vendors from which to choose.
