New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Last month, Low Cut Connie released their fourth studio album Dirty
Pictures (Part 1) available worldwide via Contender Records. The album was recorded on analog tape at the legendary Ardent Studios in Memphis, TN and is available for purchase and streaming via iTunes, Spotify, and Amazon.
"What a wild and heady time to be alive in the United States of America. There's dirty business afoot, like always, but the slime seems extra thick these days," said frontman Adam Weiner about the song. "We're all swimming in it now. The great American Melting Pot is spiked with weed-killer and golf balls. I've always tried to be a nice kid, but it seems like a good time for me to start smoking and drinking and flipping the table over."
Dirty
Pictures (Part 1) was just named one of Rolling Stone's 50 Best Albums of 2017 So Far and was listed as #6 on Sound Opinions' Greg Kot's Best Albums of 2017 So Far, with an "honorable mention" from his co-host Jim Derogatis.
The album's single "Revolution Rock n Roll" has been in the top 100 on the non-commercial radio charts for 12 weeks straight.
The band has just announced a string of tour dates throughout the summer and fall, with additional tour dates to be announced in the coming months.
Acclaim for Dirty
Pictures (Part 1):
"...their mix of Seventies Stones (but dirtier), the New York Dolls (but tighter) and
Jerry Lee Lewis (but Westerberg-ier) comes with an extra sense of bare-knuckled grit and sonic thwump to fight against the darkness." - Rolling Stone
"The 10 tracks here - including a storming cover of Prince's Controversy - find the band bridging the gap between saloon singers and barroom rockers, the results playing like
Frank Sinatra fronting The Replacements." - 4 stars - Mojo
"…it's pretty much impossible to capture the vibe of full-tilt Low Cut Connie on tape... But "Dirty
Pictures (Part 1)" (Contender) comes close." -
Chicago Tribune
"One of the best live bands in the world right now…This is the kind of band band who can pretty much play a mini history of Rock n Roll every night they're on stage." - Sound Opinions
"The Jewish Jerry Lee Lewis." - 3 out of 4 stars - The Philadelphia Inquirer
"...Weiner hasn't renounced the power of rock & roll, nor his penchant for mischief; he isn't trumpeting a new direction, he's adding dimension to a band that already offers more than its fair share of surprise and pleasure." - 4 our of 5 stars - AllMusic
"An essential rock and roll party record." - 8/10 - Glide Magazine
"...the rock 'n' roll record of 2017 -- a 10-song ramble that swings and shuffles, dives and drives, gets gritty and serious, funny and joyous." - Lincoln Journal Star
