New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Matt Mehana is no stranger to the scene as I Set My Friends on Fire celebrates their ten year anniversary later this year. Starting the band in high school, Mehana has grown up in the scene and has shown his courage in taking musical risks.
I Set My Friends on Fire have always been a very active band by releasing new songs and constantly touring. It's hard to believe their last full length album, "Astral Rejection" came out in 2011. Behind the scenes, Mehana has been perfecting the band's upcoming record, "Caterpillar Sex," to be released on July 21st.
The first glimpse of the highly anticipated album is the single "The Vision and Scarlet Witch" that showcases Mehana's sometimes controversial "out of the box" musical direction. He shared,"We're excited we found a way to start a new chapter without closing the past one. This album should have something for everyone, but we positioned ourselves so we could really test the waters with different sounds and go out there." I Set My Friends on Fire is confident that their dedicated fans can embrace something that stretches the boundaries. It's always interesting to see this band swim without a life preserver.
I Set My Friends on Fire are currently out on the first ever Tragic Hero Records Tour with Dead Rabbitts, SET TO STUN and Northern Ghost before immediately heading out with Arsonists Get All The Girls on July 15th.
"Caterpillar Sex" is available for pre-order now, along with exclusive new merch at Merchbucket.
