New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Austin based rock band My Jerusalem releases their remix EP, It's Still Torture!, out today with Washington
Square Music. The EP features five different remixes of the band's song "It's Torture!" originally off of their 2016 studio album A
Little Death. The EP is available for purchase on iTunes HERE: https://geni.us/itstorture.
It's Still Torture! features remixes from various artists and producers, each putting their own unique spin on the popular track by My Jerusalem. Critically acclaimed UK star
Ed Harcourt opens the EP with his piano infused rendition of "It's Torture", followed by remixes from Midnight Stroll (Aaron Behrens and Jonas Wilson), Guiding Light (Jason Russo), and Tunde Olaniran. The most notable remix comes from Stewart Cole, founding member and multi-instrumentalist of
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, who adds a funkier vibe on the catchy track.
My Jerusalem has been kicking around in some capacity since 2010, with contributions from Jeff Klein's (singer, guitar) revolving door of friends from previous projects, Gutter
Twins and The Twilight Singers, and who had also played in bands like Cursive, Okkervil River and the Polyphonic Spree. Since solidifying its lineup, the band released their full length album A
Little Death in 2016 to rave reviews from outlets like Vice Noisey who praised the LP as, "a dark and tormented affair, but it's also one infused with black humor as well as an infectious sense of emotional defiance." The band has gone on to play shows with Spoon, The Sounds, and Bush in support of the album. Now, with the release of It's Still Torture!, the band shows no sign of slowing down.
My Jerusalem is Jeff Klein (vocals, guitar), Grant Van Amburgh (drums), Kyle Robarge (bass), and Jon Merz (guitar, keys, horns).
