New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Nashville band Humming House will release their third full-length album Companion on October 6th via Soundly Music. The follow-up to 2015's Revelries, the new album finds the Music City quartet expanding their sound into a new territory, creating sonic landscapes that remain compelling and honest while still maintaining a sense of intimacy that is derived from their roots of making music as friends all together in the same room. Today, they released the official video for the title track off their new album, debuted by Huffington Post who raved "Humming House, consistantly shining as an energetic band filled with uplifting, infectious tunes, up the ante on Companion."

"The 'Companion' video production is a crowd-sourced compilation video; truly a 21st century collaboration," stated frontman Justin Wade Tam. "Initially we asked Humming House fans (on social media and our email list) to be a part of it by requesting that couples send in smart phone clips of momentous occasions and everyday life. We were really impressed by the creativity and the number of people that submitted! After the first batch, we decided to go out into the Nashville community and surprise people by asking complete strangers if they wanted to be in a music video. Which is pretty much the most Nashville thing you can say to anyone in this city. Kerry Henderson of Stage Left Creative (also director for our "Great Divide" and "Run With Me" videos) is based in LA and did an amazing job editing all the footage together remotely. The video really conveys the narrative we wanted in the songwriting as well as the positive vibe of the music. It's all about love and companionship!"

Glide Magazine recently called the new song "exuberant and loaded with a light-hearted fun sound. Quick-fire guitar riffs are balanced with an anthemic chorus and a bouncy fun sound that makes a perfect soundtrack for closing out that summer party."

The story of Companion mirrors the story of the band: it's one of collaboration, experimentation, and showing up for each other over and again. There are songs of hope and of desperation so that the prevailing mood is one of exchange and balance. In the spirit of experimentation, the band threw out the constraining rule that they would only write with acoustic instruments, a rule that was instated for their previous albums. While those sounds still center the creative impulses of the songs, the added electric influence and expanded instrumentation imbue the new songs with a dynamism that is irresistible.

The lead single "Takin' Over" is out now as well; Baeble warned listeners "Beware, it's wildly infectious" and Billboard called it "a lively jaunt of a tune" with "infectious ebullience."

The first half of the album is infused with catchy indie/rock, especially on songs such as "Can't Stay Away," "Takin' Over," and "Make It Through." These new songs adhere to Humming House's desire to move you and is emblematic of those moments in our lives where the rhythm of the things that we love - music, friends, family - commandeer our bodies until we're compelled to move in joy. "Sign Me Up" and "Companion" nod to Paul Simon, while later tracks like "Silver Lining," "Find What Waits," and "London" gesture to the band's long engagement with classical composition and songwriter-driven melodies so strong in the realm of Americana.

Humming House is Justin Wade Tam, Bobby Chase, Joshua Wolak, and Benjamin Jones. The band formed organically out of jam sessions that Tam held in his living room in East Nashville - evidence that some of the best projects come from spontaneous collaboration and the subsequent seeing it through. Now, three albums and six years later, Humming House continues to embody what is best about the Nashville each transplant chooses to call home.
