LOS ANGELES (AP) - The members of Los Lobos are in the studio working on their 11th studio album, this time with producer John Leckie (Radiohead, XTC). The as-yet-untitled album's spring release will coincide with the band's 25th anniversary, having issued its first album, "Los Lobos Del Este De Los Angeles" (Just Another Band From East L.A.) in 1977.

"I think we were ready for something different," multi-instrumentalist Steve Berlin said of working with Leckie. "John is an O.G. if you will; he's been doing this for a long time. With him, we've gone back to the classic artist-producer working relationship. So far, we're having a lot of fun."

The album will be the band's first for Disney-owned Mammoth Records, having shifted from the company's Hollywood label following the 1999 album "This Time." The band spent the bulk of its career recording for the Warner-affiliated Slash label.

Three-time Grammy winners, Los Lobos received El Primo Billboard, the Lifetime Achievement Award presented earlier this year at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in Miami. The group's career was celebrated on the Rhino four-disc box set "El Cancionero Mas Y Mas," released in November 2000.

Later this month, the band will take a break from the studio to play a handful of shows, beginning Oct. 21 at the Sun Theatre in Anaheim, Calif. Also on Los Lobos' itinerary is a New Year's Eve show on board the Radisson Seven Seas Navigator cruise ship in Panama City.

Here are Los Lobos' tour dates:

Oct. 21: Anaheim, Calif. (Sun Theatre)
Oct. 27: Austin, Texas (Stubbs' BBQ)
Oct. 28: Dallas (Gypsy Tea Room)
Nov. 10: Ventura, Calif. (Ventura Theatre)
Nov. 18: Tucson, Ariz. (Anselmo Valencia Amphitheatre)
Dec. 6-7: San Francisco (Fillmore)
Dec. 31: Panama City (Radisson Seven Seas Navigator)
