Morissette renegotiates record contract

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Alanis Morissette has renegotiated her record contract with Maverick Records and will release the first project under the new deal in October, sources say. Morissette, whose two albums for the label have sold more than 35 million units worldwide, was locked in intense negotiations with the label for several months, before inking the new deal. Maverick Records declined to comment.
