New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Alt-rock hometown heroes Twelve Noon are back with a new music video for their latest single, Hope In Tragedy. This time, the band has teamed up with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to raise awareness of treatment options for veterans suffering from Posttraumatic
Stress Disorder (PTSD). The emotional music video was directed by
David Walker, and sheds a light upon the enormous sacrifice that many veterans make while serving in the military.
"We know a few people close to us who suffer greatly from PTSD, and it has changed their lives" states guitarist Rob Heil. "It also affects their families. With this video, we wanted to show the struggle, but we also wanted to end it on a positive note with a glimmer of hope because it is possible to overcome and cope with PTSD. Many veterans suffer, but they keep silent. We are here for all those silent sufferers."
Director David Walker elaborates, "I worked extensively with the band to develop the idea for this shoot. The heavy subject matter was intimidating to approach. Mental health is a serious issue and I wanted to make sure that the video was first and foremost respectful to our veterans. It was to not portray PTSD as something with a quick fix, but as a process with the first step deciding to seek help. With Hope in Tragedy it was our goal to highlight that first crucial step, and that's why we end the video with the veteran walking out of his home, into the light."
If you or someone you know are a veteran dealing with PTSD, call the Veterans Crisis Hotline at 1-800-273-8255 and press "1", chat online, or send a text message to 838255 to receive confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Hope In Tragedy is the second single from the band's debut full-length album Saints and Sinners which was released worldwide on June 9, 2017 via Eclipse Records.
