Cost Plus World Market Partners With VH1 Save The Music Foundation To Support Music Programs In Schools
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Cost Plus World Market (www.worldmarket.com) loves the holiday season, especially with the musical sounds of bells jingling, drummers drumming, and pipers piping, but without music, it would be one silent night. That's why the specialty retailer has partnered with VH1 Save The Music Foundation this season to support their efforts to help kids, schools and communities realize their full potential through the power of making music.

VH1 Save The Music provides grants to public elementary and middle schools that do not currently have an instrumental music program in place. Studies have consistently shown the benefits and positive effect music education has on a child's academic performance, sense of community, self-expression and self-esteem.

Partnering with local schools in the VH1 Save The Music network, a number of Cost Plus World Market stores will host a live in-store performance by young students to delight holiday shoppers. During the busy season, the retailer would like to share holiday cheer and encourage its customers to enjoy the songs that make the holidays extra special. Click here to find a participating store.

In addition, the specialty retailer will be selling in stores an exclusive, limited-edition reusable VH1 Save The Music shopping tote for $3.99 through December 31, 2017. Proceeds from the sales will go to the Foundation to restore music education programs in schools.

As featured in World Market's new holiday video, The Performance, the retailer also wants to inspire other young trumpet players. In each of World Market's 280 stores, they'll be giving away one brass trumpet for the student musician in your life. From November 11, 2017, through December 2, 2017, customers can enter for a chance to win this highly-prized Kaizer Instruments trumpet at a participating store location. Click here to find a Cost Plus World Market location near you.

Lastly, World Market will be hosting a holiday concert on November 17, 2017, at The Promenade at Westlake in Thousand Oaks, California. Headlining the concert will be singer/songwriter Rachel Platten ("Fight Song"), herself a supporter of VH1 Save The Music. Rachel just released her latest album "Waves" and more information about Rachel can be found at www.rachelplatten.com. Opening for Rachel will be Sean Oliu & Friends, a local band made up of six high school students who perform to bring awareness about the importance of music education.

Already well known for its eclectic assortment of unique and authentic home decor items, savvy shoppers know that the holidays are one of the best times to go to World Market. From festive and affordable holiday decor items - including 1,000s of ornaments - and traditional holiday food and beverages from around the world to tabletop pieces and beautiful textiles, customers will find everything they need to get their homes ready for the upcoming entertaining and gift-giving season.
