New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The arrival of the incentives measures not only directly attracts new production, but also has created fresh interest in Thailand as a location for international production.
The Thailand Film Office has been particularly active throughout 2017 in promoting Thailand as a location for international production. After a successful AFM, the Thailand Film Office is now preparing for the FOCUS production show in London.
The aims of the promotion campaign in 2017 have been to communicate the arrival of incentives, and to leverage the increased interest in Thailand to stimulate growth in the production services industry in Thailand.
Worateera Suvarnsorn, Director of the Thailand Film Office welcomed the positive results
'The arrival of the incentives measures not only directly attracts new production, but also has created fresh interest in Thailand as a location for international production.'
As participants in the Location Expo at the American Film Market, the Thailand Film Office attracted over 70 enquires per day, and in total identified 500 visitors with serious interest in filming in Thailand.
It is estimated that meetings conducted at the American Film market will result in inbound production to the value of at least $40m.
Worateera Suvarnsorn says that the promotion campaign will continue through 2018.
'Our promotional campaign in 2017 has created significant increase in the industry awareness of Thailand's capabilities. In 2018, our attendance at major production events world-wide will be supported by advertising campaigns, new issues of 'Filming In Thailand' magazine, and inbound roadshows, in addition to our annual event, the Thailand International Film Destination Festival. We look forward to continuing to attract new productions in 2018. We hope that the steady increases in the levels of production that have occurred over the last decade will produce another record year in 2017, and again in 2018.'
