Sony/ATV Signs Worldwide Deal With Joe Walsh
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Sony/ATV Music Publishing has signed a worldwide publishing deal with iconic singer, songwriter and guitarist Joe Walsh whose role in the legendary group Eagles runs parallel to a hugely-successful solo career.
Across five decades, Walsh has been one of the most influential, successful and charismatic figures in music, having served not only as a long-time member of the celebrated American band but having also recorded a string of popular solo albums. With over 20 releases to his credit, Walsh's powerful playing and songwriting are showcased throughout, including his early releases such as the brilliant Barnstorm through to his last studio album, aptly titled Analog Man.

His agreement with Sony/ATV covers classic songs such as "Life's Been Good," "Rocky Mountain Way," "All Night Long" and "Lucky That Way," as well as "Life In The First Lane" and "In The City," which he wrote and recorded with the Eagles.

Sony/ATV Chairman and CEO Martin Bandier said: "Joe Walsh is a musical giant and we are honored that he is entrusting his incredible catalog of songs with Sony/ATV. I know all our guitar-playing executives - and there are many of them - look at him as a hero, but he is not only one of the all-time great guitarists but a terrific songwriter as well."

Joe Walsh's manager Irving Azoff said: "Joe's vast career catalogue, both solo and with Barnstorm and the Eagles, have found the perfect home with Marty and Sony/ATV."

Joe Walsh said: "Sony/ATV Music Publishing has a great team. I'm happy to be onboard."

By the time Joe Walsh joined the Eagles in late 1975, he had already enjoyed success as a member of both the James Gang and Barnstorm before launching a solo career. He made his recording debut with Eagles on the group's fifth studio album Hotel California, which was released at the end of the following year and became not only the band's most successful studio release but one of the most highly-acclaimed and biggest-selling albums of all time. Topping the Billboard 200 chart for eight weeks and recognized by the RIAA for 17 million sales in the U.S. alone, it included the hit "Life In The Fast Lane," which was co-written by Walsh.

The follow-up The Long Run was also a multi-platinum-selling No.1 album and included Walsh's co-writes "In The City" and "The Sad Café." It was the group's last new studio album for 28 years before the release in 2007 of Long Road Out Of Eden, which debuted at No. 1 on both sides of the Atlantic and was one of the biggest albums of the year.

While still a member of Eagles in the Seventies, Walsh continued to pursue a successful solo career, which included the Top 10 album But Seriously Folks, which featured his most successful hit single "Life's Been Good."

Walsh scored another solo U.S. Top 20 hit with his composition "All Night Long," which was part of the soundtrack to the film Urban Cowboy. Other solo hits followed such as the Billboard rock chart-topper "A Life Of Illusion," "The Confessor" and "The Radio Song" alongside albums including There Goes The Neighborhood, You Bought It: You Name It, The Confessor and his most recent studio release Analog Man, which was co-produced by Jeff Lynne and featured contributions from artists including Little Richard and Ringo Starr.
