Throwback To The 90's As Grammy Award-Winning R&B Group 112 Takes The Stage At 16th Annual Honda Battle Of The Bands Invitational Showcase
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / American Honda Motor Co., Inc.) The 2018 Honda Battle of the Bands (HBOB) Invitational Showcase welcomes 112 to share the spotlight alongside the nation's top eight Historically Black College and University (HBCU) marching bands, in Atlanta on Saturday, January 27, 2018.

Fans are in for a real treat as one of the most successful male vocal groups headline as this year's singing entertainment. Known for classic hits such as "Only You," "Anywhere," "Cupid" and "Peaches & Cream," the multi-platinum selling group 112 hits the HBOB stage after the launch of their newly released sixth album titled, Q Mike Slim Daron. The new album is available now in stores and digitally.

HBOB is the most highly anticipated music event of its kind. Known as "the nation's premier HBCU marching band event," the Showcase is dedicated to supporting HBCU music education programs and serves as a platform to celebrate the heritage and showmanship of HBCU marching band culture. The 2018 lineup consists of HBOB veterans and newcomers. The 2018 performance lineup includes:

Hampton University, The Marching Force (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) - first appearance

Alabama A&M University, Marching Maroon & White Band (Southwestern Athletic Conference) - fifth appearance

Miles College, Purple Marching Machine (Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) - first appearance

Prairie View A&M University, Marching Storm (Southwestern Athletic Conference) - eighth appearance

North Carolina A&T State University, Blue & Gold Marching Machine (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) - sixth appearance

Alabama State University, Mighty Marching Hornets (Southwestern Athletic Conference) - sixth appearance

Tennessee State University, Aristocrat of Bands (Ohio Valley Athletic Conference) - eighth appearance

Bethune-Cookman University, Marching Wildcats (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) - 13th appearance

The eight bands were selected through a process that included online fan voting, as well as feedback from band directors, HBCU presidents and American Honda representatives. In addition to a $20,000 grant from Honda to support their music education programs, each participating HBCU will receive travel and accommodations to the Invitational Showcase in Atlanta.
