New York, NY (Top40 Charts) ASAP Rocky, Gucci Mane, and 21 Savage have joined together for a new song: "Cocky," which also features London on da Track, is taken from the soundtrack to Uncle Drew, the upcoming basketball movie starring All-Star guard Kyrie Irving. The film, which is inspired by a series of Pepsi commercials, also stars Lil Rel Howery (Get Out, JAY-Z's "Moonlight"), Tiffany Haddish, and Nick Kroll, as well as NBA greats Shaquille O'Neal, Reggie Miller, and others. Uncle Drew hits theaters June 29.
Produced by London On Da Track, the ballers' anthem kicks off with a verse from Savage. "Too many bad bitches," he raps. "I don't 'cuff 'em, I just hand 'em off like a layup / I ain't got time to lay up / Met my accountant at Ruth's Chris, she told me that I'm way up."
Basketball lines continue throughout the track. "I want another ring, girlies buckle at the knees," raps Rocky. "Swerve 'em like the other team / You can still hear the sneaks / Ballin' in some Dungarees / Make a cheerleader cream."
Guwop handles the chorus ("Too fuckin' cocky, baby, I'm so fuckin' cocky") and then takes over the third verse with a nod to Jermaine Dupri, who recently became the second hip-hop figure to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. "So So Def to these suckers," he raps. "I'm like JD in '03."
Uncle Drew is a Charles Stone III-directed comedy that features Boston Celtics star Kyrie Irving in the leading role.
