New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Jamaican rapper and VH1 TV superstar Safaree was at a loss for words when he was presented with the 2017 Blue & Bougie Impact Award at the sold out event inside Mingles Cafe in the Bronx recently.
"I never got an award before...didn't even know what to do", he posted on his Instagram page hours later.
"But thank you so much for my Impact Award @blueandbougie ... I could write 5 paragraphs but it wouldn't capture how grateful I am... Thank you everyone who's been rocking with the underdog #safaree", he continued.
The Brooklyn based rapper was flooded with hundreds of congratulatory messages from fans on his IG page which had over 100K views.

Nadine Sutherland was beaming with pride when she posted on her Facebook page how elated she was to be among the honorees.

Among the celebrities sending congratulatory messages for Sutherland, was Bob Marley's daughter Cedella Marley.

Killer was also honored with a Blue & Bougie Lifetime Achievement Award. DJ Roy of Irie Jam
Radio accepted on his behalf since he cannot travel to the USA at this time.
"Congratulations Killer. It was an honor to receive the award for you. Big up yourself my youth! The man put in the work" Roy shared.
Other award recipients were New York's reggae mix master DJ Norie and philanthropist Suzette Williams.
