New York, NY (Top40 Charts) "This tour was easily the most successful Bösendorfer promotion that we have ever done in the United States since Yamaha acquired Bösendorfer in 2008," said Dan Rodowicz, national sales manager of the Institutional Solutions Group, Keyboard Division, Yamaha Corporation of America.
Nearly 800 piano music lovers vicariously spent a "Night in Vienna" when International concert pianist Jan Jiracek von Arnim toured this month on behalf of Bösendorfer, one of the world's finest piano manufacturers.
The award-winning virtuoso brought the music of his beloved Vienna to appreciative audiences gathered at several Bösendorfer dealers, including Classic Pianos in Bellevue, Washington and Portland, Oregon;
Music Exchange in Sacramento, Greene
Music in San Jose and San Diego; Fort Bend
Music Center in Houston, and Metroplex Piano in Dallas, Texas. In addition, Keyboard Concepts supported a Master Class at The Colburn School in Los Angeles, California.
Hailed by BBC Magazine for his "formidable technique and playing of emotional depth," Mr. Jiracek played a program of short pieces, followed by stories about his life performing on the concert stage, teaching at the prestigious piano department at the Vienna School of
Music and serving as Artistic
Director of the International Beethoven Piano Competition Vienna.
"This tour was easily the most successful Bösendorfer promotion that we have ever done in the United States since Yamaha acquired Bösendorfer in 2008," said Dan Rodowicz, national sales manager of the Institutional Solutions Group, Keyboard Division, Yamaha Corporation of America. "It was so popular that we are planning another tour this
September at Bösendorfer dealers in the Midwest and on the East Coast."
"'Night in Vienna' shines a spotlight on the profound connection between Bösendorfer and Vienna," said Darren Speir, president of Metroplex Piano. "This type of event tells the legendary story of a truly one-of-a-kind piano brand."
Mr. Jiracek was pleased to share his love for Vienna with audiences here in the United States. "When it comes to classical music, there is simply no other city quite like Vienna," he said. "To me, it seems like it is alive with the sound of music. And there are references to the great classical composers at almost every corner, which I find extremely inspiring."
His instrument of choice for his performances was the legendary Bösendorfer grand piano. "I am impressed by the new Bösendorfer pianos. Each instrument carries in itself the memory of a wonderful Viennese music tradition and is particularly responsive to my ideas as an artist."
