Sting & Shaggy Drop New Song "44/876" Ft. Aidonia & Morgan Heritage Off Their Joint Album
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, Sting and Shaggy release a new song - the title track - off their forthcoming collaborative, island-inspired album 44/876. The album will arrive physically and on all digital platforms on 4.20 via A&M/Interscope Records and is available now for pre-order.

"Reggae music has obviously been a great influence in my own musical DNA. I spent a lot of time in Jamaica in the '80s. I wrote some of my best songs there - "Every Breath You Take" and "King of Pain" - so I felt I owed a debt to Jamaica," says Sting.

"It all ties back to 44/876. The Englishman comes to Jamaica and is embraced by all these Jamaicans, showing the influence he has had on the island as much as the island has had on him. All that really transcends to the type of music we are making. From the 44 to 876, we are connected," says Shaggy.

The feel-good anthem features Jamaican dancehall star Aidonia and Grammy-winning reggae band Morgan Heritage and is produced by reggae legend Sting International (who is responsible for Shaggy's "Oh, Carolina," "Boombastic" and "It Wasn't Me") and Dwayne "iLL Wayno" Shippy. "44/876" is the third song, following "Don't Make Me Wait" and "Morning Is Coming," from their joint album.

Sting, who wove Jamaican rhythms into his early work with The Police as well as his solo repertoire, and Shaggy, born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica and cutting his musical teeth in the dancehall clubs of Brooklyn and Manhattan, initially joined creative forces to record "Don't Make Me Wait" as a tribute to the Caribbean sounds that influenced them both - and ended up recording an entire album full of joy, melody and uplifting music. In the video for "Don't Make Me Wait," filmed in Kingston, Sting and Shaggy's chemistry takes shape through a fully-immersed experience: riding motorcycles, playing dominoes and pool, and enjoying local food and drinks.

"Don't Make Me Wait" was released on January 25 and debuted at #1 on Billboard's digital reggae single sales chart. The release was followed by a performance on the 60th Annual Grammy Awards as well as the NFL's Super Bowl Tailgate event that aired on NBC Super Bowl Sunday.

The iconic duo recently performed "Don't Make Me Wait" and "Morning Is Coming" on Good Morning America in March. A host of additional television appearances are lined up in support of their new release including Live with Kelly and Ryan (April 24), The View (April 25), Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen as well as ABC's Nightline. Additional appearances will soon be announced.

Sting & Shaggy will also be extending their collaboration to the road this summer when the two Grammy-award winning artists embark on a European tour of various historic venues, performing their most celebrated hits as well as selections off their forthcoming album.

44/876 was recorded in Jamaica and New York with Sting & Shaggy being joined by various musicians and writers including the legendary Robbie Shakespeare of Sly and Robbie, dancehall sensation Aidonia, Morgan Heritage, Branford Marsalis, Agent Sasco and Sting's longtime guitarist, Dominic Miller as well as writers Taranchyla, Dwayne "iLL Wayno" Shippy, Shane Hoosong, Machine Gun Funk and Patexx. The sessions were produced in part by Sting International and by Martin Kierszenbaum who has previously written/produced songs for Sting, Madonna and Lady Gaga. Sting International, Robert "Hitmixer" Orton, and Tony Lake mixed 44/876.
