Donald Fagen Produced Peter More Announces Debut Album Out June 29, 2018
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Austin based artist Peter More has announced the release of his debut LP Beautiful Disrepair, out June 29. More's debut album was produced by Steely Dan's Donald Fagen, and happens to be the first full-length from a new artist, ever produced by Fagen. In anticipation of the album release, More has shared the first track from the album, "In The Basement." Listen to the track and share here.

"Most of the groove and time signature changes came about spontaneously," More says of "In The Basement." "We had been playing long sets at a residency down in Brazil so we got used to trying out new rhythms and interpretations of songs. I think that's how it came about on 'Basement' when we got in the studio, trying a couple rhythmic ideas behind the guitar solo."

A soulful nonchalance underscores much of Beautiful Disrepair, perhaps because it came together so fatefully. More had a chance encounter with Donald Fagen and his musician-wife Libby Titus in San Miguel de Allende, a lush, colonial enclave in central Mexico. It's a second home to the frontman, who has frequented the city since childhood. "What's cool about San Miguel is that its collaborative culture attracts a lot of notable musicians and artists," says More. "There's a communal aspect to the town. I fell in love with that."

After hearing a live version of "Beautiful Disrepair," Fagen asked More to join him sitting in with a local jazz ensemble in San Miguel de Allende. Fagen then invited More and his band to stay in his home in Woodstock and attend Levon Helm's final Midnight Ramble concert. Shortly thereafter, Fagen approached More about producing and recording the Texas-native's debut full length. They recorded Beautiful Disrepair with guitarist José Juan Poyatos, bassist Diego Noyola, drummer Adrien Faunce-working around Fagen's various projects-in San Miguel de Allende, Fort Worth, New York City, and Woodstock.

Beautiful Disrepair will be released independently on June 29. Follow Peter More on Facebook for news, tour dates, and a closer look into the creative process that forged the debut full-length produced by Donald Fagen.
