NEW YORK (KOCH Records) - KOCH Records and 3 Deuces Records proudly announce the release of bassist extraordinaire Marcus Miller's sixth studio CD entitled "Silver Rain," which will be released on April 12th. The title track (inspired by a Langston Hughes poem "In Time of Silver Rain") was co-written with legendary musician Eric Clapton, who also provides lead vocals and guitar.
"Silver Rain" is the follow-up studio set to Miller's "M2," which won the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album.

Multi-instrumentalist Miller is also a well-known producer for Miles Davis, David Sanborn, Luther Vandross, Chaka Khan, Roberta Flack and more.

The new album includes seven original Marcus Miller compositions and innovative cover versions of Prince's funky "Girls and Boys," Edgar Winter's monster classic rock hit, "Frankenstein," Stevie Wonder's "Boogie On Reggae Woman" and Jimi Hendrix's "Power Of Soul."

Besides Clapton, "Silver Rain" also boasts some notable guest shots from Macy Gray, Kirk Whalum, Gregoire Maret, Kenny Garret and alto saxophonist Gerald Albright famous for his work with Anita Baker and Quincy Jones.

3 Deuces Records is Miller's new artist imprint on the industry's independent label leader KOCH Records.

Miller will tour throughout 2005 to support "Silver Rain." A follow-up press release detailing performance dates is expected soon.
