LOS ANGELES (Curb Records) - Curb recording artist, KIMBERLEY LOCKE, who rose to fame when she was named the second runner-up and the Last-Girl-Standing on season two of the Fox TV series, "American Idol," has announced her wedding engagement to high school sweetheart, Don Campbell. The singer told the news to the TV newsmagazine, "Extra," in an interview scheduled to air tonight.
Locke, originally from Gallatin, TN has dated the Jackson, TN groom-to-be off and on for 10 years. The two will reside in Los Angeles and no date is set as of yet.
Locke scored a No 1 Billboard Sales Single hit with "8th World Wonder," which dominated both pop and AC radio becoming a top 10 AC radio hit. Curb Records will release "Coulda Been" to radio February 28th. The catchy pop tune, produced by Guy Roche (Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera) has been called "candy coated" by People magazine.
"Coulda Been," pulled from her "One Love" debut album, is already a UK hit with airplay on BBC radio and its accompanying video, directed by Urban Strom (LeAnn Rimes, Mary J. Blige), on The Box UK. The London Sun calls it "A classic slice of R&B/pop at its very best."
Locke is currently writing and recording the follow-up to "One Love," which debuted in the top 20 Billboard album charts upon its release in May 2004. The sophomore CD is scheduled for a release by years end.
