New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Music is an extremely powerful art. It can take the listener on a whirlwind trip down memory lane to where they were when they first heard it, the experience they had while hearing the track live or even a person that the lyrics remind them of. Sometimes that nostalgia takes you back childhood and brings up memories of a much simpler time. That was one of the inspirations behind the choice for The Anchor's brand new cover of the 80's pop hit, "Kids in America," that was made popular to 90's kids who were exposed to the song from both Digimon and Jimmy Neutron.
The Anchor recently wrapped up their "
Make It Last" summer tour (which featured support from VRSTY) and shot footage along their crazy adventure of touring the country. Providing the visual to the upbeat, infectious song, the video gives you a behind the scenes look at tour life for The Anchor, while showcasing the band's musicianship along with Vocalist Linzey Rae's incredible vocals. Guitarist Cory Jones shared, "We hope this cover brings a smile to your face and inspires you to let your inner kid out every once and a while."
Having seen success with their latest EP, "Make It Last," that hit Billboard and Itunes charts, The Anchor has been proving they are becoming a powerhouse in the scene who aren't afraid to take risks and showcase their musical diversity. "Kids in America" is the follow up single to their cover of Suicide Silence's "Unanswered," which highlighted Rae's intense vocal range. The lighthearted new track is guaranteed to leave listeners singing along while reminiscing about where they first heard the song.
You can catch The Anchor on the road later this month with more details on their Facebook page. Physical copies of "
Make It Last" along with merch are available on Big Cartel. Be sure to follow the band on Spotify as the band looks forward to releasing new music that you won't want to miss.
